'The American Peasant' So Far

Chris Williams sent me this image this morning. This is the Irish chair I’ve been obsessing over. And it wasn’t at Johnstown Castle – it was from a private collection I toured.

As promised, here is the “The American Peasant” – nearly complete. All that’s missing is the chapter on the peasant chair plus some back matter, such as acknowledgments, a bibliography and an additional appendix or two.

Some notes:

• All of the opening images are just snapshots. The real beauty shots need to be taken.

• There are still a few more rounds of editing to come. So there are typos and dropped words. If you see a mistake, we do appreciate you reporting it.

• The construction drawings have been proofed only once. The dimension lines are inconsistent from chapter to chapter (some are grey; some are black). Fixing those is on the punch list.

• The step photos are indeed in black and white. I decided to use color only where it mattered.
