Below the paywall are plans for the peasant chair I built last week that uses the sandwiching method for drilling the mortises.
Because of this method, it is the easiest armchair I have ever built. I can’t wait to build another one to try out some improvements to the drilling process that I’ve been thinking about.
But that is going to have to wait for a couple weeks. First, we must finish up two videos we’re shooting. One on building and using a Roman workbench, and a second on building a Swedish tool chest. And on Friday I am taking all the furniture I’ve built for “The American Peasant” up to Oak Park, Illinois, so Narayan can photograph it.
As always, the chapter on the peasant chair below is unedited. So there will be typos and whatnot.
