This year I’m building a bunch of experimental chairs that have been lounging in my sketchbook and frontal lobes for too long.
The Chapel Lane chair is particularly nice, the back and armrests have a lovely splay.
I like the proportions of these chairs. The height of the arm and the back makes it look like a cozy enclosure/cage.
I like the look of the “Slane” chair
Chris the honey locust trees you mention using for the seats of the chairs…is this the locust trees that have the aggressive thorns?
Indeed. The wood is not as heavy as black locust. But it is *murder* on edge tools.
I bet. I grew up on a grain, hog and cattle farm in 70’s and where the sows use to have their piglets or build nest to have their babies we now have more of these honey locust trees than I can count. Maybe something good will come them. Thanks
